In the leadership style assessment I was glad to see that I had high scores within the aspects of leadership that mean a lot to me in how I manage and lead my own staff within my program. I have a program with 20 staff and I manage county-wide an additional 19 staff for training and development opportunities. I welcome the fact that I have noticed while taking the assessments and reading on leadership development, that I need to work on more effective communication with my staff. I had a situation recently, where I thought that I had given clear instruction to a staff member. It came to my attention that the staff member was not clear on my direction. I am taking steps to ensure that I continue to have more clear communication with my staff. I was also glad to see that on the matrix my scores came out as a team leader. I pride myself on being able to develop and work with my staff consistently on the vision that I have for my program. I have been able to grow my program from a staff of 4 to the 20 staff that is now employed with me. I am glad that I am taking this class for me to learn more about leading my
