Examples of positive friendships between people in the Bible include: David and Jonathan, Elijah and Elisha, Moses and Aaron, and Naomi and Ruth. Proverbs 17:17; 18:24; 22:24; 27:6; and James 4:4 suggest that Christians ought to be friendly to friends. These verses also suggest that Christians should not make friends with those that are quick to anger. Great friends are friends that are there to help you get up when you fall. Jesus is our friend in the sense that He is very close to us. He loves us so much, that He was willing to take on all of that suffering so that we could be saved. He calls us friends, because God told Him things that He has made known unto us. If that is not called being a friend, I do not know what is. 7. Based on John 15:5-11 and 16:19-24, it can be said that the real cause of joy is Jesus Christ. The Father has loved Jesus Christ therefore, Jesus is more than happy to spread the joy. Our joy will be complete only if we follow Jesus. 8. The guilt that Screwtape is referring to is how we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Those that are in the flesh cannot please God. They do not abide by the law of God. It is important to confess our sin to God, because he is willing to forgive us. If He did not care about his children, God would just let them fall down and not help them back up. There is a good and bad guilt. Good guilt is guilt that points out sin and then points forward to repentance. If good guilt is handled properly, it can spur a person toward a happy and meaningful life. False guilt clouds thinking and creates in our lives both spiritual and psychological road blocks. This stops individuals from seeing relationships with God, others and self. Through false guilt, people lie and bare false witness to themselves. There is a difference between “guilt” and “feeling guilty”. Guilt is the act of having committed an offense or wrongdoing. Feeling guilty is having a feeling of responsibility or remorse for an offense, crime or wrongdoing. Guilt can either be good or bad but it is up to an individual to get it cleared up with
