Some people think that the school day should not start earlier because well rested kids get better grades and higher test scores, also 6-12th grades aren't getting the full 9.5 hours of sleep, and people’s adolescents have deeply programed biological clock that makes them stay up late and wake up later.

To begin with, Kids get better grades and and higher test scores because the school day starts later in the day. “Study shows that well rested kids get better grades and score higher on tests.” When kids get more sleep then they get better grades and higher test scores. “Studies show that teens are wired to be night owls,” he says.
