Pro Point Two, by having set standards on format, students are able to learns skills such implementing citations and research into their writing. The Texas FFA places many requirements on the manuscripts submitted for contests, for example requiring all manuscripts to use APA for style and references. If students do not use APA formatting or execute it effectively they will loose points or receive no points for that section of the grading.
