Secondly, at Rush-Copley Hospital they were able to leverage their existing health information technology (HIT) into effective tools to manage this tuberculosis (TB) outbreak. Rush-Copley used their existing electronic health record (EHR), and ProVation Order Sets to customize a specific workflow that addressed the needs of their patient population and the needs of the staff. This resulted in the appropriate data being tracked in the EMR, eliminated duplicate services, and provided underlying support for their population health management (PHM) program.
