I am open to trying hypothesis because I am curious. I understand the science of hypothesis which is why I don’t entirely dismiss the idea. Hypothesis is only possible if the active participant is open and willing enough for suggestions in a certain state of consciousness. Since the state of consciousness is close to sleep, I would be willing to try a hypnosis in which treats my insomnia. I believe this would be a more effective way to use hypnosis rather than trying to recall childhood memories or even past lives experiences. …show more content…
In fact, EEG studies prove that hypnotized people are wide awake. Hypnosis can not cause someone to act against their will. In actuality, hypnotized people can withstand and refuse hypnotic suggestions since their state of conscious is awake.
Hypnotic suggestibility is an altered state in which one is more prone to act on suggestions from the hypnotist. I believe I would be highly suggestible, but only depending on my setting. If I were alone with a hypnotist I would be much more suggestible, rather than if I were in front of a stage with a crowd of people. Since I’m aware of how hypnosis works, this my hinder my suggestibility if I genuinely want to resist
