Had Renault Duster in consideration set but did not buy
Like everyone I was waiting for the Duster to come out. I seemed to be ahead of it trend. I was looking for a change from Corolla to something new. But when the prices came out I was put off to see the top end going in 13lakhs.
In respect to exterior, it is quite acceptable. The wheel arches make it look wider, but it is not so from inside. The quality of door handle is really plasticity, which does not look good, and would not last long. From behind it looks more like a military vehicle which was another shortcoming of the design.

It is the same engine used in Micra and Sunny. But there is a lag in performance after you press the accelerator, which is a little bit of announce. The vehicle gives good millage, it gives around 14-16kmpl within city limits.
The suspension are stiff, but the ride is not uncomfortable. Duster takes potholes easily. Ground clearance is good and suitable for tough terrain.
At 13lakhs I wanted better interiors and automatic gear change. I didn’t find Duster worth the price. On top of that sales experience and after sales service is pathetic.

In India in the given segment, a lot of cars are chauffeur-driven, and hence the rear seats deserve more importance than front seats. Since most of the SUV/ MUV are primarily used for weekend trips and getaways, some storage space is a welcome feature.
