Reflective Essay: The Five Es

Before I took this course, I thought I knew about all about safety and what the procedures are. As I started reading the book and doing all of the assignments I realized when it comes to safety, there's more to it then you think.
I learned about the five E's which are,
Engineering also a way to provide protection that is mandatory by a certain product and even an environment like for example, car seats and helmets.
Enforcement is a behavior that is changed through the law like police officers. -
Education is to teach a person how to protect themselves like taking training courses or CPR courses.
Economic Incentives are evaluations that is granted by the law like fines or even grants that the government gives.

Focused awareness is when you're driving on hazardous roads, which makes you worried so you keep both hands on the steering wheel with your attention on all the drivers around you and also on the road.
High alert is when your adrenaline rushes in a certain situation like using the brakes on your car, so you won't crash into the car in front of you.
Comatose is when you freeze in a certain situation with no response in the stimuli.. Like for example, say an individual gets into a car accident then after hey freeze up in disbelief that they really got into a really bad car accident.
I can honestly say that I've used a few of these techniques while I was driving on the road. I've been tuned out before because I just feel like I get bored in the car and I want to listen to some music while I drive. There are times where I look around and say to myself, "Wow I'm here already." I use relaxed awareness a lot. When I first started driving I always used focused awareness I always had both my hands on the steering wheel and always aware of my surrounds and the road, but as I got used to driving I began to become relaxed.
