Music - 5 letters which changed my life over the past 3 years more than anything ever has. I’ve changed my career plans so drastically that I’ve decided to throw away the dream of becoming a scientist or an engineer to try and focus on creating music and try do it full time.
I’ve got a real passion for music. I’ve first started when I was 12 when I first walked into the music classroom. It was the first week of second year and I’ve never been so excited to be in school as that day. I’ve fell in love with music the moment I saw the bass guitar. I’ve never really had people associated with music in my family apart from my uncle who played a bit of the piano, but apart from that I’m really the only one who’s really into music.
What I also love about music is that as you go along, you realise that you don’t really need to know all the theory stuff. Yes it’s really useful to know what notes work well together and what chords sound nice but in the end someone who has can have zero knowledge about theory and write a much better sounding song then someone who knows it while having fun. Writing music knowing all the theory behind it can become really boring. As one of the best book about music theory* I’ve had said “When rules dominate, formula results. Too much formula is the enemy of invention.”
In conclusion, music has been and always will be a huge part of my life whether I succeed as a musician or not. It will always be the first thing I go to in hard times and the first thing I will try to have a career in. It’s been there for me when people weren’t and I will always have the same passion for
