I had simply took this class to get the extra credit that I needed to graduate, I had never expected to be so enthralled by the study of society. The textbook I received was called Sociology: The study of human relationships, and I read every chapter assigned thoroughly. This information was so new to me that at the time I couldn’t help but talk about it. I remember eagerly talking to my english teacher about the aborigines my text talked about. At that point in my life I never even knew aboriginal australians existed. I was so enthralled and angry at all this new information. I was enthralled because I never knew how interested I was in learning about the in’s and out’s of society. I was angry because most of this information was so new to me and that my only encounter with Sociology was a self-taught class at the end of my high-school career. Which in short meant that like most of my peers I was ignorant of what was going on around me. Ironically, it was my lack of motivation that caused me to get bad grades in high school, which in turn led me to taking Sociology for a credit recovery program. This changed when I started
