As I entered the class and looked at them, their faces seemed to be burdened as if their most hated subject finally began. It hurt. However, I didn’t had any choice at all but to continue and start the task.
For them to improve their moods, I said that we were not about to discuss any topic for today. Instead, a short quiz would be answered by them. Afterwards, we were to check and record their scores. Then, they could have their break. They started to become excited.

I included real life situation examples where my lesson could be applied, and as I observed them, I could say that they really appreciated the lesson and they really understood it very well. As I checked their seatworks, my heart was filled with gratefulness and my face with a large smile because almost all of them got perfect scores. I guessed I need to prepare and think a lot of trending issues that should be related to my next lessons. That would be hard. But still, I would try. I was so happy that they all mastered our lesson. Well, I shouldn’t leave them. I should stay until it was already time. They tend to ask me to eat. That was my first time to be asked by students to eat. I just smiled and said thank you. I felt grateful.
After the three- week vacation, now it’s time to go to school again! It’s time for me to wake up at 4 in the morning … again, and prepare for every day’s lesson.
I asked my critic teacher regarding on today’s activity, and I felt so much grateful as she said that we were only to review the students about the lessons last year. In addition, she also said that I am not required to attend that day’s classes; she could handle the facilitation of the classes’ reviews. What I did was to spend all of my time in preparing for tomorrow’s lesson. It was quite hard for me not only because grade 10 mathematics’ topics were much harder than the lower grades’, but also because I was thinking on how would the students respond tomorrow after they had been to a long vacation.
