Abortions is Bad
Abortion in the United States is one of the biggest topic that has been debated over the the past century or so. Abortion is the process of removing the fetus from the womb during pregnancy; before the fetus can survive on its own (Women’s Right). Abortion became legalized in the United States during the Supreme Court decision in the Roe v. Wade in 1973. Abortion was once illegal and it was considered as a crime in the U.S. in which the state government have the authority to put the woman who committed abortion in jail (Women’s Right). The Roe v. Wade is the decision that had been made in the U.S. history in which many people in the United States later debate over.

Both pro-choice and pro-life believe that women have the right to choose whether they want the child or not. However, the difference is that pro-choice believe that the right to choose is more important than the right to live. Pro-choice believe in that there is a fundamental right to abortion (Marco Rubio). People that believe in pro-life believe that life or birth is more important than the choice that the women choose. Although pro-life think that abortion is illegal, they still respect the woman’s choice. According to Marco Rubio, “There is a fundamental right and there is also a right to live.” Which mean that women have the right to do anything to their body, but if there is a fetus that exist in the mother’s womb, it also has the right to live (Marco …show more content…
Wade legalized abortion in 1973, abortion became a sore subject between political parties. The two big political parties in the U.S.: Republican and Democrat, have opposite views on the subject of abortion. The Republican party is heavily based on religion beliefs, which in the effort, it truly viewed abortion as a criminalized action since 1976 (The Politics of Abortion). According to The Politics of Abortion, 88% of state Republican party had called of the illegality of abortion and the other 12% have reserved their opinions. As in the congress, 90% to 95% of Republicans have called to eliminate or to limit the practice of abortion (The Politics of Abortion).
On the democratic side, abortion is viewed as a woman 's choice to whether having the child or not. According to The Politics of Abortion, it stated: “...84% of state Democratic Party platforms support a woman 's right to choose. The remaining 16% avoid the issue but not one favors the elimination of a right now considered fundamental to reproductive freedom.” The statics is generally the same in both parties but on different viewpoints.
