Reasons For Shakespeare's Death For Romeo And Juliet

The day is hot, two bodies lay bloody on the streets of Verona. One is Mercutio, best friend of Romeo, cousin to the prince. The other is Tybalt, part of the Capulet household. Who is to blame for this, this bloody fight. Who is to blame for Tybalt’s death. The brawl between Mercutio and Tybalt ended deadly for Mercutio. Later Tybalt came back to fight Romeo, and Romeo wanted revenge. Romeo won the fight and Tybalt died. Rome is responsible for Tybalt’s death because he did not tell Tybalt he was married to Juliet, he came between Mercutio and Tybalt when they fought, and he was the one that killed Tybalt. Romeo did not tell Tybalt he was married to Juliet. Before the fight between Mercutio and Tybalt, Romeo said he loved Tybalt’s name like his own. Not knowing what this meant Tybalt became furious. “Tybalt, the reason that I have to love thee Doth much excuse the appertaining rage To such a greeting: villain am I none; Therfore farewell; I see thou know’st me not.” (Act 3 Scene 1 Line 60). Tybalt does not understand what this means so he draws on Romeo. If Romeo would have told Tybalt, that he was married to Juliet, this whole fight could have been stopped. Romeo could have taken many steps to avoid the death of Tybalt. Romeo came between Mercutio and Tybalt as they fought. Mercutio and Tybalt were fighting in the streets. There are many reasons why it is Romeo’s fault for Tybalt’s death and I have presented three. He did not tell Tybalt he was married to his cousin, he came between Mercutio and Tybalt as the fought, and he was the one the kill Tybalt. If Romeo had been smarter, he could have avoided the death of Tybalt and maybe even the death of his best friend
