Reading Vocabulary Subtests: Word ID And Word Attack

Basic Reading Skills

The Basic Reading Skills clusters includes two subtests: Letter-Word ID and Word Attack. The Letter-Word ID subtest involves Ann recognizing letters and words. Word Attack assessed Ann’s ability to decode pseudo words such as “nop”. Ann’s Basic Reading skills are in the low range. Her scores indicate that she is performing greater than or equal to 7% of children her age.

Reading Comprehension

The Reading Comprehension cluster is comprised of two subsets: Passage Comprehension and Reading Vocabulary. The Passage Comprehension subtest involved Ann identifying a missing word in a sentence or paragraph. During the Reading Vocabulary subtest, Ann was presented words and asked to provide synonyms and antonyms and to complete
