The beginning of reform for Latin Americans began in the shape of the Bracero program and the Raza unida party which were put into action in the 1940s and the early 1970’s. These significant events provide characteristics that have been continuously shown in the disenfranchised struggle for equality of Latin Americans and the extent to which it is applicable in the context of the current standings of political reform today.
Indeed, as there was positive reform implemented into the employment issue amongst many Mexican-Americans, there was also a few characteristics which remained the same. Many of these Chicanos were subject to discrimination, abuse, and injustice as they moved forward with these changes to improve employment. DO I NEED TO MENTION THE CHANGES??

A political party established in the early 1970’s that embarked on a journey to bring better economic opportunity, education and employment for Hispanic Americans. The party allowed many Chicanos in Texas to be employed in political positions around the state. This was a catalyst for gradual change due to the fact that the party accomplished its goal over a time period of 22 years and a party that started in Crystal City, Texas has now continued into a nation wide reform. The Raza Unida party propelled into the next chronological era by leaving a legacy in which many Chicano’s still follow today. It caused a change in which Mexican-Americans were allowed to run for political positions and it was a stimulant for unifying Chicanos all around Texas and eventually around the entire
