It will help school districts provide training programs for teachers to put in place the interventions necessary to increase achievement for all students.
The purpose of this qualitative study will be to explore teacher’s perceptions of the bilingual and ESL programs and their impact on academic success for bilingual students in the educational setting.
Research questions for this study are:
What are teachers’ perceptions on bilingual education?
What is the educators’ expectation of the bilingual students’ performance in general classroom?
What is bilingual education as seen through the curriculum to address the needs of the bilingual students?
What is bilingual education as experienced in the tutoring classes after school?
Limitations related to this study may include gaining access to schools and staff. Permission from the principal must occur before interviews and data can be collected. Concerns include the status of the researcher as an international student. Building a relationship with the schools is important to conduct the study, but I may face challenges with my research because of a lack of relationship with the participants needed for the
