Pursuing A Degree In Early Childhood Education

Growing up as a child, I watched my mom show passions, wisdom, and motivation while interacting and teaching preschool children in her classroom A lot of the children in my mom’s classroom came from single families, low income, and socioeconomic backgrounds. My mom was a very passionate person. She loved her job. I can recall, the time when she was undergoing Chemotherapy and was in some pain she continued to smile, inspire, and motivate the children to engage in activities. This played a key role in my life and motivated me to change my thoughts and dreams of being a nurse to get a degree in the Childhood Education field. Some just need a job. But, this is not the right attitude to have in earlychildhood profession or any other professionalisms. As for me, to show passion, I don’t let my feeling for the child/children interfere with my job. I am able to teach in an environment to make the child feel safe and secure, and learning. Most of the children I work with come from different socioeconomic backgrounds. I am able to teach on the child’s level by continuing to show passions and provide what’s best for the child’s welfare. Being in this field also, requires you to be able to offer support and resources to the families such as, parent involvement, get the parents involved with the children and the
