Purple Eye Colors

Are purple eyes just legends? Research show that eye color is determined by the amount of melanin in the iris and the scattering light in someone's eyes. Research also shows that there are different counts of people developing purple eyes after birth. A study on Alexandria's Genesis shows that it is a very rare color in the eye's of almost all women only. So is it true? Many people do not believe that it is real because of all the outrageous effects that it has on some people who have acquired this rare eye color. One of these weird outlandish effects is that their skin is very fair, but never tans or burns. They also don't develop any hair on their body except on their eyebrows, eyelashes, or hair that grows on their head. They also possess …show more content…
Melanin also works to absorb heat from the sun! Many animals count on this to make and maintain their body temperatures. It also works to reduce the amount of light beams that enter the eye. This provides the absorption of the scattering light in someone's eyes. (wiseGEEK: What is Melanin? on paragraph 7) This results in keener and better eyesight for the people with darker eyes with more melanin in them. Those with less melanin will have lighter and more fair skin coloring. A person with a huge lack of melanin is an albino, or as some would call it, albinism. All animals, plants, and humans can have forms of albinism! Many people with albinism have very light eyes. Their eye color can sometimes be seen as pink, red, light blue, or even purple! (Buzzfeed: Albinism is Beautiful on paragraph 4) People with albinism may have a big difference between the description of the effects of Alexandria's Genesis violet eyes and their fragile light colored eyes. People with albinism usually have skin that burns easily and very poor vision. This may sound a bit familiar, but some types of albinism cases are associated with increased …show more content…
The iris is usually pigmented with lots of melanin which determines our eye color. ( Wikipedia: Iris (anatomy)) Determining somebody's eye color isn't all that easy. People may think that the eye color of a child is just a mix of the parent's eye color, like mixing paint, but this isn't true. Each parent has two pairs on genes on each chromosome. (All About Vision: Eye Color) There are many different combinations for each eye color. It just makes every eye color unique and special! The origins of this odd eye color and weird effects that come with it are from England in 1329. A child was born with pale skin and purple eyes. Her name was Alexandria. However, some other people say that it originated over 1,000 years ago, in Egypt. A mysterious light flashed in the sky and all who were exposed to it suddenly had purple eyes with pale skin. They came to be known as spirit people, and eventually disappeared. (Alexandria's Genesis (purple eyes): Fact or Fallacy?) Nobody knows if both of these happened, but it is pretty cool to know where this mystery

The children with blue eyes did not seem to mind, probably because nothing changed for them, they were still the “better” kind of people. For the children with Brown eyes, this feeling of being less than someone else is a feeling they have never felt before. For instances, the very same day Jane Elliott proposed this experiment, a problem regarding eye color arose on the play ground at recess. This situation just shows the effects of racism we have in our country, if children are getting defensive about having a different eye color than the other. I have been fortunate enough to have not…

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a cute butt must be aware of its effect on susceptible young ladies and be a complete and utter jerk about it. Thankfully, said single man did not know that (Y/N) (Y/L/N) was a susceptible young lady, nor that she was in the possession of the opinion that his butt was cute, therefore he simply ignored her existence. Albinism is most common—and most feared—in sub-Saharan Africa. In Tanzania, one in about 1,400 children are born with it. In North America and Europe, the rate is far lower, about one in 20,000. A parent may have normal skin and hair pigmentation and mate with a partner who looks the same but, if each carries the recessive gene for albinism, a child will be born with the condition.…

In life, villains ought to be avoided; in fiction, they are simply unavoidable. Without a villain getting in the hero’s way, there would be no conflict, and a story with no conflict would not be much of a story. Great villains can have a significant effect on the value of their stories, but what makes a great villain? One example is Felix from the novel Keepers of Light by Christine Barnaby, whose frightening appearance, awful misdeeds, and opposition to the hero make him an ideal villain. Barnaby’s descriptions of Felix paint him as a horrifying creature.…

Albinism is a rare genetic condition characterized by the reduced pigmentation in a person’s hair, skin, and eyes. In most variations of the disorder, it is an autosomal recessive condition, an albino individual would have to inherit the recessive allele from both parents. This condition has been of particular intrigue to me ever since I had been introduced to the disorder when reading a novel where the main character suffered from albinism. Even though this character had suffered extreme setbacks as a result from this disorder, he went on many adventures with his friends. However, most of this story was lost to my twelve year old mind, though there was one thing that stuck with me, individuals who are diagnosed with albinism cannot stay out in the sun for long, as their skin could become…
