France designed the Panhard Type 178, which was a better version of the Toe-M-32. It was designed to police the reaches of the French Empire overseas, particularly in North Africa where unrest was prevalent. The Type 178 was fielded in the German Invasion of France in 1940 and proved effective. In 1944, the Germans were being pushed back along multiple fronts. France proper was then separated from Axis Control by the end of 1944 and, with it, came the liberation of the wartime facilities. Then shortly the Type 178 was back in production for the French Army and served with Free French forces from there on. Furthermore, the SdKfz 234 or generally known as “Puma,” was used by Germany in WWII. German campaigns proved the success of the Puma. The production of the Puma began in April of 1944 and completed in December when attention had already shifted towards newer models. In the end of the war, only 100 of these vehicles were fielded before Germany capitulated in May of 1945 and their effectiveness was never wholly
