This brings not only assistance from the teacher but also the parent. The child then is unable to be independent in school because he/she relies on their parents to remind them of when their homework is due. Therefore this will most likely cause the child to struggle in high school because teachers will not email parents in regards of when their homework is due. Highschool is made for children to help develop into young adults. On the contrary when I was a child, I was responsible to write down all the homework that was due not my parents. If I didn’t know what was due for homework, I was forced to ask a classmate if I had their phone number or email. My mother was never responsible for when my homework was due, her responbility was to assist me in my homework when I needed help.My responsbilty was to know when my homework was due by writing it down when the teacher annouced it or wrote it on the board. This made me a responsible independent student when I got into highschool. I also developed a pattern into writing my homework down everyday in a planner that I had. The Zone of Proximal development also ties into the book we are reading “Why Don’t Students Like School” By Daniel T
