Pros And Cons Of Farting

The silent crime was committed leaving behind a foul smell that choked my nostrils to death—a fart. I looked at the suspect in the eye, but he quickly denied the accusation, even though he was the only person in the room. Blame, guilt, embarrassment—all seem to attack a person when they let “one rip” that accusing someone else is the perfect disguise from the crime. Everyone farts—kings and queens, rich and poor, men and women—that if anyone says they do not fart then they are either lying or not alive. Farting is a natural activity of our body, from the stench to the noise, that hiding a fart is almost impossible unless the fart is silent and odorless. The culprit of farting as Lorenz states are these tiny microorganisms that live inside our intestines—bacteria, who are responsible for digesting our food and releasing gas. Lorenz says that sometimes even the air that people swallow along with food causes farts to erupt, so the bacteria is not the only one to blame for farting. Then, a person will definitely fart less often, and if a person wants to eliminate the stench of a fart then, they should eat less sulfur-rich foods to avoid starting an apocalypse. Three articles, “Forensic Science Controversies” by Rachel Kaufman published in CQ Press, “Forensic Science” from an FBI handbook on Opposing Viewpoints, and “But it Works on TV” by Sharon Begley from Opposing Viewpoints, discussed in this essay have comparing and contrasting rhetorical elements. Those rhetorical elements are the use of factual data from crime scenes (logos and pathos), contrasting writer credibility (ethos), and different appeals to certain audiences through formality of the articles. It’s over 30 million tons of food waste that the U.S. sends to the landfills each year. Organic materials such as food scraps and yard trimmings are broken down by bacteria to produce methane. Methane is a greenhouse gas and is shown to have a warming potential of 21 times that of carbon dioxide. I would choose to give up my sense of smell. This seems like the most sensible choice to me as it is far less traumatic than the sudden loss of eyesight or hearing. While all five senses are typically vital to survival, domesticated species and humans can typically survive losing a sense without any serious repercussions. We even have the ability to improve certain senses that are not up to par, such as eyesight. By establishing infrequent instances of rhyme in the song, the quality of a sing-songy poem which pulls in its readers is avoided. Instead, the lack of rhyme creates a lack of feeling and emotion within the recounting of the speaker’s murders. An emotional detachment from these murders is also suggested when the speaker states, “I can’t say that I’m sorry for the things/ that we done/ At least for a little while, sir, me and/ her we had some fun” (9-12). These lines indicate that the speaker feels no remorse for his actions, and urges the auditor to accept that the speaker believes his crimes to have been “fun.” In addition, both the speaker and auditor are fully aware of the impending execution awaiting the speaker.…

If animal agriculture had this much of an impact over one hundred and seventy years ago, imagine the magnitude of impact it is having today. To provide land for the livestock, feed crops, slaughterhouses, and grazing fields, animal agriculture uses nearly seventeen million square miles of land. That’s about thirty percent of the earth’s land mass. Twenty-six percent of all ice-free land, seventy percent of all farming land, and thirty percent of all plant land surface is dedicated to animal agriculture. Vegetarian diets only require a portion of the thirty-three percent of farming land that animal agriculture uses, since one acre of plants can feed more humans than it can animals.…
