The weight restriction limits the number of items that passengers can pack in their suitcase and usually only leaves room for necessary materials. The airport also limits the size of carry-on that is allowed on to the plane. The size requirement for a carry-on bag is, “22x14x9” inches or smaller (Frink 86). At most airlines, passengers can bring one carry-on bag and a small personal item such as a purse onto the aircraft. Passengers are also only allowed to carry on liquids if they are in bottles containing one hundred milliliters or less of the substance. Passenger’s liquids also must be able to fit in one clear quart sized bag. Limiting the liquid prevents someone from bringing enough chemicals that could be used for creating a bomb or explosive.
