Family member often correspondingly carry a large amount of stress while parents, spouses, or even brothers or sisters are deployed overseas. The challenge of being separated from family members for extended periods of time can be hard for both servicemen and the family. It can also be undeniably hard for a solider to come home to his or her family after experiencing a traumatic event during their deployment. The servicemen and family both face the reality, pressure and coping involved with PTSD. As displayed by the Lone Survivor Foundation, “Veterans with PTSD are more likely to report marital or relationship problems, higher levels of parenting problems, and generally poorer family adjustment than veterans without PTSD.” (LSF). This can be because of to the harsh reality of cultural adjustment after experience such a different change in environment.
