Research is showing that an increasing number of people are suffering from poor mental health as a result of various mental illnesses. The most common ones include depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer’s. “According to the World Health Organization, unipolar depression was the third most important cause of disease burden worldwide in 2004. As part of the increased access to mental health service, the plan will also focus on providing informative and easy to understand education communities. Especially to low income and poverty stricken families who have shown increased tendencies to develop substance dependence. By Intervening early and providing health education to students staring at the lowest level about the negative effects of high-risk behaviors such as tobacco, alcohol, drug use and risky sexual behavior we can reduce their exposure and encourage them to seek healthier options to engage in.
