Plugged In Every night, I help clean my house after my little sisters are asleep. Since it is late, I have to be sure not to wake them up, so I put in my headphones and listen to music. I’m just putting something away, when my parents walk in the room. I think nothing of it and keep working. Like I said before, public places can be very distracting. Headphones can block out some of that background noise. Even being too quiet can affect some people, including me. When it’s too quiet around me I can’t focus on anything but how quiet it is. Working in general, music just seems to help a lot of people who can’t focus on anything when it’s too quiet. In my opinion, music also helps people with memory. You hear the song and within a couple more time of listening to it, you basically have it memorized. When you constantly listen to music with a beat and melody that is easy to remember, you can also learn to memorize what you are studying or working on. It also makes it lot more enjoyable when you have something to listen to or to focus on. Even though I still am told that music and working isn’t a good combination I think it helps me focus more. It isolates me from other people and helps me zone out other noises that could possibly distract me. Music type, even though I would rather not listen to music without words, is still important and plays a big role in the effect music has on working or studying. To many people this may seem bizarre or unusual, but it is a personal opinion, and something that you must experience before voicing how it affects
