The first being Pete Docter who has had a long film history of being involved in the making and or directing of movies such as Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc., Wall-E, and Up (Mottram). Each of these movies were known to break history in the animated movie world for being family friendly, fun and have an important message to share. Pete used his own life experiences as a child and as a parent to create the story of Inside Out. In an interview in the New York Times “Mr. Docter noticed his pre-teenage daughter, Elie, experiencing a similar transition. “She started getting more quiet and reserved, and that, frankly, triggered a lot of my own insecurities and fears,” he said. “And it also made me wonder what was going on.
