Bang! Bang! Who Killed Capitalism? There have been shots fired in the free market. The perpetrator? Bright, young minds who think they know everything about economics. They are seeking after a solution to a problem that cannot be fixed. At least, it is a problem that cannot be fixed as quickly as demanded. “What do the young minds claim the problem is?” some would ask. Well, capitalism. Teenagers and younger adults truly think capitalism is one of the key problems of America’s collapsing market. In fact, many hate capitalism. Capitalism is not the criminal; ignorance is. Ignorance and socialist political leaders will ruin this country, the youth, and might just topple the precarious economy as Americans know it.
To understand the conflict, one must understand capitalism. Capitalism supports the free market. The free market supports free enterprises, entrepreneurship, and the explicit use of the consumer’s own money. With capitalism comes competition. Competition is all in the name of winning the consumer’s money. Without capitalism, and with socialism, the consumer’s favorite jeans would never go on sale. It is painful to one with understanding of economics to see people desiring socialism. Modern youth would not be able to survive without capitalism. All these modern marvels can largely be attributed to companies always wanting to have the next best thing. Socialism stifles economic growth. However, with entrepreneurship, any individual can make any kind of product they desire and sell it. Everyone wants to create the next best thing. This is why iPhones continue to be released.
