Register to read the introduction… In 1960 DDT was banned because it was killing our beloved Eagles. The Eagle is now making a comeback. There are about 30,000 Bald Eagles in Alaska and Canada, and about 2,500 in the 48 states. The Eagle has been our Symbol for the United States since 1782 for its ?fierce and independent image.?
The Cheetah is an Endangered Species because people are hunting it for its fur, loss of habitat, and because people think it?s a pest. There are only about 12,000 Cheetah?s left in the World. If this continues who knows how many Endangered Species are going to face extinction.
In conclusion, if people continue to kill animals for fun or pleasure there will be no animals left in the world. Think about it, what would we eat? How many people will starve? What will the planet look like with no animals for pets, food, company, and best of all what will happen in the future? What will the Future generation think of us?

Set up some National Wildlife Areas, where people can see what kinds of animals are on their way to extinction. Protect the habitats of the animals that are so few in numbers. Plant native plants to the area where you live to attract more native animals, such as birds and butterflies, even help attract threatened or endangered animals. In the United States alone there are 1,985 endangered or threatened species plants and animals alike. That is a lot for the States. Trash that gets dumped into the Atlantic by Boston and New York. Some of that trash gets carried back into the harbor by the waves. Let?s ask ourselves, what the trash is doing to the animals we love in the ocean like sharks, dolphins, whales, porpoises, and other marine
