North Woods Dressage Association is a big part of my life. I have spent the majority of my summers over the past four years volunteering at NWDA horse shows. Most of the time I don't ride my own horses, I go to volunteer because I want to make sure the show runs smoothly for all of the other riders. I worked with the students by assisting them during their lesson. We play games with the kids, practice physical therapy exercises, and taught them horse riding etiquette. This was the first time I have worked with disabled children. I have learned so much from these kids and have become emotionally attached to many of them. I am so grateful for this volunteering experience know that I was given this volunteering opportunity for a reason, to make a difference in the students life.
