I’m kit Moyer, i’m 19, i’m technically homeless, and i love my life. Some people would think its rough being young and homeless. People say i should get an education, fall in love, make a family, and find a future. The thing is i have all of that. I once had 19 teachers at once, and i meant this girl who changed my world, and most importantly i found a family. I haven't lived the most traditional life. Even when i was little i grew up in many homes with many types of people. I can’t tell you what it’s like waking up on Christmas with a big family. I couldn't tell you what its like going school shopping. Never could describe what going to the park with your mom is like. I believe i was in Starkville Mississippi when i came across a park. Huntsin park was rather large and had tall trees and soft grass. The sun was at its highest and i had been traveling for days two days straight. I was exhausted and rather bitter. i sat under one of the trees and stopped to give my dog water when i noticed a large class of fourth graders. They were running from side to side of the park bursting with energy. After awhile a girl named violet walked up to me she was tiny with long blonde pigtails and her innocent smile made me miss being so young. She bubbled with happiness and asked to pet my puppy. She sat in the grass next to me and started going on about her many adventures on her school field trip she was on. She lit up telling me every story and soon more of the kids came along. They all shared their experiences and carried on about what they learned and how exciting it all was. Soon enough i had the full class, parents, and even the teachers all around. Then violet sat very tall and with big eyes asked me what i had learned that day. She struck inside me that in all my adventures i never really took into consideration what i learn everyday from everyone i meet. as short and momentary as our meeting was nineteen fourth graders showed me the enthusiasm for learning and growing i had lost. A day doesn't go by now where i don't ask myself what it is i have

Joseph Campbell, the creator of the hero’s journey, did a lot of research on ancient mythology. He discovered that many heroes travel the same paths to becoming a hero. Campbell decided that heroes come across many challenges that are put into stages and in those stages the hero grows closer to the reward at the end. I am definitely not a hero, but my journey of finding Christ and giving my life to him has absolutely made me into a better person overall. As I look at my journey of finding Christ, I see that it has many similarities to Campbell’s Hero’s Journey.…

There are a couple of obstacles that have played a major role in me becoming who I am today. I've had naysayers trying to negatively influence my thoughts, and crush my dreams by saying that said I will never amount to anything, or that I should give up on my dreams and get realistic with my goals. A couple years ago I was a completely different person. I was out of shape physically, my academic performance was very poor, and I had a terrible attitude. I improved greatly in athletics and my academic career.…

The Keirsey Report asked good questions to really help me think about what kind of person I really am. I concentrated on the wording of the questions, as you went further along I felt I could see the flow of the questions. Then I realized the questions were not asking me the same thing just worded differently, each question was truly different. Each question really made me question the scenario, and try to place myself in such a scenario. I would ask my 16-year-old son, and my husband what they thought and several times we had same answers.…
