Dialogue The following interview takes place in a quite coffee shop Ashley Mahon: Hello Mr. Perry, thank you for meeting me today.…
I visited Citgo Express Lube in Rocky Mount on 03/11/17 in the morning to get my 2002 Lexus ES300 inspected. This was my 4th coming to this establishment. I told the mechanic which I now realized he was the manager, I wanted an inspection. I went in the building and told the lady I am walking to Krispy Kreme. She asked me to put down my name, car make and model, and phone number just in case they had to contact me about my car.…
My journey at Chick-fil-A began the of fall of last year, soon after I turned sixteen. I wanted to work at Fairfield Coffee as a barista, but due to my age, I could not even receive an application. Jobs at Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts seemed to be my next best option; but, Starbucks’ supervisor and I were in a serious game of phone tag and Dunkin Donuts never responded to any of my calls.…
While most kids were outside playing in the mud and dirt, I was sitting inside on a couch, comfortable, clean, and happy to do so. As a child, I detested the idea of getting my clothes dirty. I loved to be able to maintain the pristine cleanliness of my outfit, so I often refused to play outside. Instead, I resorted to a crimson red Gameboy SP with a blazing LED screen, almost too big for my hands, for my childhood action. I’d live out intense fantasies in that three inch square.…
I would visit Applebee’s again for several reasons; it is affordable, causal, and the food is really good. As a college student, the first thing that I consider before eating out is how affordable the place is. Compared to Olive Garden, I would say that this restaurant is a lot less formal, less costly, and a lower food quality. Overall, my experience was fun and enjoying because I felt relaxed sitting, laughing, and eating with my friends. When come back next time, I may try a dessert.…
I remember the day before my first day at Pennoyer. I was sad and happy, scared, and mad all at the same time. I remember crying and yelling at my parents to not make me go to school that next day. The next day I showed up at school and remember walking into Mrs. Michael’s third grade class and seeing all of these new people that I would be friends with for years to come. At this school is where I made new friends, great memories, and where I grew up from a little kid into a young adult.…
Of the many different influential experiences I have had over the past years, the one that stands out to me the most as a true rite of passage was starting my first job as a lifeguard at Nassau Country Club. It taught me lessons like the true meaning of hard work, the the value of a day's pay and most of all, what it means to have someone's life in one's hands. These lessons were given to me through my own experiences, as well as by my boss, Dr. Dan Cavallo D.O, one of the hardest working men I know. It all began, however, with a huge stack of towels. On my first day of work, I was more nervous than I had ever been in my entire life.…
Working in fast food can be a very trivial experience. I aspire to always put up my best front, and present myself to the world in a positive manner. However, working at Sonic Drive-In has taught me quite a few things. For example, profanities can spew out of your mouth at a record pace when you spill a vat of hot grease on yourself, you can step into the freezer and scream without the customers hearing you, and when you work with someone from 5p.m. to 2a.m. you learn a lot about them. Now, I am going to be honest, I have to be at work in an hour…
ACME Rock Shop: The hastiest yet most instinctive business decision of my life. It was late 1979, and at the age of nine, I had already developed an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things Rock & Roll. When I wasn’t busy playing hockey like a normal Canadian kid or taking Hammond Organ lessons (unlike any other normal Canadian kid), all of my free time was spent flipping through stacks of my parents’ classic rock albums, reading Circus Magazine, Creem, Hit Parade, and occasionally braving the dusty shelves of the local library to pull up anything I could find on The Beatles, The Stones, or The Who. By the age of nine I had certainly earned what could be considered a solid Bachelor’s Degree in rock musicology.…
As I pulled into the park on a Friday evening, the sun glistened off of the metal handlebars lining the top of the skateboard area. Parents pulled into the parking lot with barely enough time to shift into park when their children eagerly thrust the door open and sprint towards the wooden entrance. The ground teetered as I walked in with young children not even reaching my waist rush in to claim their rightful throne on the swings. One child peeks their head from the top of the slide, exclaiming “Hello” and “Holla” to anyone who might hear him from such a massive heights. She still has Braum’s chocolate ice cream smeared on her face that could be mistaken for dirt.…
HersheyPark is filled with acres and acres of space. Which causes some people to get lost in different places. In this case, I got lost near the restrooms. While enjoying myself at this amusement park everything came apart in a blink of an eye. How?…
It’s been one long week after the hurricane hit my town with a crash. I’m at home with my family praising the fact that it is perfectly fine and wasn’t damaged too badly from the blustery and blasting the wind and the downpour of the heavy rain. Our house was one of the few on the block to endure nature itself. I in the distance I see my friends and I’s favorite hangout spot, John’s Incredible Pizza.…
This paper is a story about how I went from a lazy couch potato to becoming a hard working young man. Do you know what it’s like to lose all of your free time? Teenagers need to learn how to balance school, work, sports, and a social life. One hundred percent of people are satisfied when they get paid for the first time. To begin, not knowing anything about the work force, I was scared to apply.…
One of the ladies informed me that I would be shadowing her that day. The first thing I learned to do was work the cash register, Next, I was taught to write down food orders, and escort the food out to the tables. When the customers were finished with their lunch, I was asked to clean up their tables and sweep. Then, when that task was completed, I learned how to do…
Working at McDonald’s is the worst job I’ve ever had. First of all, the pay is extremely low. I was making the maximum rate of $8.75 an hour. I was constantly struggling to make ends meet. I had to count and save every penny to pay my bills on time.…
