Days on end of constant pacing, hard work, and unnecessary social interaction. That’s pretty much what I see school as being in a majority of the time, but luckily, every year we get a 2 week vacation. Those are practically blessings for students and I’m sure teachers too. I never do anything but still, it’s a nice time to work on whatever I don’t have time to during school. I have a fairly packed schedule during the school year, so the 2 weeks are a nice time to catch up on sleep and T.V. shows.
Although I did say I use this time to catch up on sleep, I was necessitated wake up every morning at around 6:45. For one, my dad was required to drop me off to my moms while he went to work, but after that I was ordered to stay awake to watch my brother while my mom went to work. Of course at around 10:30, my grandmother would retrieve us and take us to her house and monitor us, but even then my grandfather would direct me to get up and become active or clean about the house if I tried taking a nap! I also got to catch up on some chapter books and comic books that I’ve been wanting to read for a while. Of course, this wasn’t all I did during the break, because I also practiced a lot. In fact, I memorized an entire piece that I have until April to complete. Not only that, but on a different instrument I learned new songs randomly in the break. I’d like to call all of this productive, but the only scholastic thing I’ve done the entire break was the 4 mallet solo I was assigned to learn. I did finish learning it though, so in a way, it was fairly
