Personal Narrative: A Near Death Experience

Decent Essays
I have had a near death experience, but I have also heard many stories about near death. Death comes to anybody and everybody, no matter the time. When your death chance may come nobody knows when and where it will happen. Throughout the stories I have heard, nobody knows that it is coming until it's too late.

Everybody has said throughout their experiences that after they almost died their priorities change. When I was in a car accident my priorities changed such as I used to only think about how things were going to affect me and my family, not other people who were not close to me. After the car accident, I became aware that I need to live my life to the fullest and not focus on the bad things, but also remember good things come

Several years ago, when I was a brand new nurse’s aide, I had an experience with a dying patient that changed my perspective completely. The pain began slowly, pricking me with its sharp needles only while doing barre in ballet once a week. I ignored it, believing it to be normal, common discomfort that would soon go away, typical thoughts of a dancer whose entire sport is centered around “good pain”. Six months later, it had escalated to the degree that every step I took felt like an arrow to my knee. Dancing had become impossible, and it was determined that I should be taken to the orthopedist. The bland, brown and beige lobby became extraordinarily familiar as I waited two hours to be examined.…

I guess the moral of the story is it’s a small world and I’ve been a bumpy roller coaster that I unknowingly took a lot of good people on, but I’ve tore it down. I know now you’ve been flying above watching the whole time waiting for me to get to the right place and hop off though. You tried to get me there once and I stumbled because I didn’t have to tools or strength, I was put in a padded room surrounded my everyone from family friends to coworkers and strangers (its not paranoia). Once you saw I was poking the glass and I saw an opportunity for a job I wanted I’d get it together just needed the correct tools and asked for them you threw Home Depot and Lowes at me and I grabbed what I needed to seal the deal and looking back it has been…

A Thousand Experiences Throughout life, individuals face different obstacles and struggles; my obstacle was my tendency to be shy. For example, when I was faced with social pressures like speaking in front of a class for a presentation, or meeting new people, I would be a nervous wreck. My palms would sweat, my voice would tremble, and it took all the strength I could muster to overcome my irrational fears. I only had a small, albeit close knit group of friends due to my introverted ways.…

Death has a different impact on each of us because we are all different and everyone deals with it in different way and this is due by life experience and the story behind us. I think that even though it is very difficult these situation are situations where you can find personal growth and strength. I personally think I have a particular relationship with death or in general because I become very easily attached to people or even objects that remind me important people to me, because everyone in my life has a role and is important in their own way. I faced two major losses so far. I first lost my grandfather when I was seven and even though I was only a child I suffered a lot, because he was, as I used to say as a little girl, my “favourite…

Coming out of my Sophomore year in high school, all I wanted was to have a summer of relaxation by the pool. I wanted nothing to do with a summer job or sports. My decision on not getting a summer job resulted in my parents giving me chores to do around the house which included, taking out the trash, getting the mail, and about every other job a regular maid would have to do. Throughout the weeks I had been getting the mail I never noticed an envelope quite like the one I did on Tuesday. Inside the envelope was two separate pieces of paper, one was blue and said “Congratulations Jonathan, you have been invited to work with Dr. Jack Moore and his staff this summer.”…

The day i almost died From then on I will never forget the day i almost died in a car crash. This event occurred in 2016 one day in the afternoon, I was also 12 years old at the time. I was also in fact more fragile and scared in those times. I also learned to always be thankful for being able to go through bad life events from being in one myself. Up until that day I woke up in the morning to hear my mom yelling at me, “Get your clothes on I don’t have time to wait!”…
