To start, one reason that the Percy Jackson series affected me was that through those books I learned that Rick Riordan is my favorite author. The first semester of this year I didn’t read many books. Our class didn’t visit the school library and I didn’t have many recommendations for exceptional books, but on one day, I decided to check out the Magnus Chase series since it was by the same author and I truly liked his books. Soon I owned and had read all of the “Mythlopedia” series, “A Guide Greek to Mythology”, and a couple of books about Greek myths. These books taught me a great deal about Greek Mythology and that information has shaped my view of the world. Not until you understand the allusions do you notice how prevalent they are.
