As demonetization took place, usage of digital payment methods like e-wallets, e-banking, debit and credit cards have increased and will go on to make a systematic cashless infrastructure; as demonetization came as a shock to Indians. Secondary data i.e; qualitative research presented as a literature review, was reviewed and studied in order to get a better understanding on e-wallets, demonetization and Paytm. This qualitative research did an effective and qualitative work in finding the possible influencing factors toward e-wallets and the effects of the strategies adapted by Paytm for its marketing.
However, the paper is mainly based on primary data i.e; the quantitative method, collected through a survey questionnaire conducted directly with consumers, in order to get the statistic results from respondents. A random sampling method was used, people from the age 18 and above were targeted and had the chance to be a part of the survey. The respondents are from India. The same consists of male and female respondents.
The questionnaire consisted of 12 questions including Yes/No questions, filter questions, closed questions with alternatives, closed questions with multiple choice answers. The quantitative method used is Questionnaire. The questionnaire was designed to find out the customer perception of e-wallets and Paytm in regards to demonetization. The questionnaire was designed via Google Forms (see Appendix 1). The questionnaire was sent to potential respondents who reside in India via digital means. They are mostly friends and friends’ circles.
The aim of this questionnaire is to find out whether or not consumers use e-wallets and the level of their usage of Paytm and its popularity among them. The survey was carried out through a questionnaire.
The questions for the questionnaire were designed to find out the customer perception of e-wallets and Paytm in regards to demonetization.
Since some points had to be kept in mind like an appropriate length of the questionnaire, though, not every theory discussed previously could all be included in the questionnaire. The logical order of the questions was designed mainly based on the steps carried out during digital payments – selection of e-wallets, purpose of usage of e-wallets, problem recognition, evaluation of alternatives and final
