My Greatest Accomplishments Essay

Improved Essays
Accomplishments “A great accomplishment shouldn't be the end of the road, just the starting point for the next leap forward” is a quote, by Harvey Mackay that inspired me to try new things in life. Accomplishment is the successful achievement of a task. These tasks spark a period of personal growth and can help others understand themselves better. Everyday someone is completing a goal and then they accomplish their task. Not everyone has the same types of accomplishments. With every accomplishment that a person achieves they learn new information. People are always achieving a new task even when they do not realize it. At any time of the day you can try something new and learn from it. This year my accomplishment was trying new activities and getting more involved with others and my community. My first accomplishment began when I joined the Peer Leadership group at my high school. The Peer Leadership groups are made up of experienced students that help guide the new students. The Peer leaders help answer questions, show others around and make the new students feel comfortable in their new surroundings. One of the main events that Peer Leaders are known for is helping the seventh graders transition from elementary school to high school. During this special activity, I actually made tons of new friends while helping out other students. This unique opportunity was very rewarding for me because it felt fabulous helping others to succeed. When we had had to paint signs for the seventh graders everyone shared their ideas and we all comprised on what to paint on them. Working as a team was extremely rewarding for me. Also, when the seventh grade orientation transpired in the summer I got to help the seventh grade students learn where everything is located in the school. From this accomplishment, I learned that it is very vital to help others in any way that you can. Also, I have learned that working in a group makes everything easier, especially when everyone helps out. The second accomplishment, I achieved was getting into the National Society of High School Scholars. …show more content…
For this accomplishment, I had to get very good grades all year. The four areas that they look for in a student were to show excellences are scholarships, service, leadership, and character. The National Society of High School Scholars is a group that recognizes academic achievers that are in high school from around the whole world. After completing this task, I discovered that as long as I put my mind to it, I can do anything. Whenever, I did a school project or took a test I always tried my best. I have always acquired good grades, but knowing that others out there noticed, that means a lot to me. The small endeavors in life can lead to other accomplishments. My third accomplishment that I completed this summer was getting two jobs and managing them both. For my summer job I decided to become a Lifeguard. To become a Lifeguard I had to take a Lifeguarding course. During this activity, I was able to learn how to save people and what to do in serious situations. After completing the course I applied to work Kittatinny Regional High School and Crandon Lakes Country Club. After a few days of work, I realized the importance of getting to know your coworkers

Whenever I was feeling like this, I would always turn to them because they reminded me of how hard I worked and how great I would feel once I felt the reward.…
