The chapter that stuck out to me the most from the book, “Outliers” was chapter one. Chapter one pertained the most to me because it talks about a young hockey player that gets scouted and becomes successful at his sport. I have played baseball my whole life and as I have grown, my love for the game has as well. Baseball has become one of my biggest passions in life. Reading about a young athlete, like myself, becoming something more is encouraging to me.
There were several quotes that stuck out to me in the book, “Outliers.” My favorite quote from the book and also the quote that I would say is now my “motto” is, “Practice isn't the thing you do once you’re good. It’s the thing you do that makes you good.” The reason I am now considering this quote to be my motto is because it’s closely relatable to me and my life. I am glad I had the opportunity to read this book before I made the transition from high school into college and later adulthood. This book has given me encouragement through the different stories of successes. Lastly, with baseball season right around the corner, I am especially glad I got to read the story of the young, aspiring athlete, like myself, who makes it big through hard work. Because of the book “Outliers,” I have been given motivation for the next few years coming
