In-depth-interviews with OTC/prescription drug abusers in Amman city provided us with a deeper overview about the problem from a different perspective. However, the main limitation to carry on this interview with is that abuser may lie and not tell the truth as on our case he said the main cause that lead him to addiction is seeing his friend dying in front of him 10 years ago , but he is addicted for more than 19 years . The following is the discussion of the main qualitative findings of the study, the demographic details and the main three themes, which had emerged during the interviews.

patient addiction history and evaluating his experience with drug of abuse the patient stated that at first he used cough syrups that he bought from Syria illegally then he started using weed and other sedatives , he took them for the sake of experience and due to his age (21) this is a common reason to start abusing drugs but the special thing about this case that he used to combine sedatives and stimulants when he experience any side effects from the drugs , he used them orally , and when he was asked if he had ever injucted himself he denied firmly and said’ never i wont reach that state ‘ considering this is his 4th visit to the rehabitaion canter ‘ we noticed that this patient knew the generic names, scientific names and the doses of the drugs he abused .
