In The Diary of Anne Frank, Hitler oppresses the Jews and Christians because he doesn’t agree with their culture and religions and he and his administration believed that they were inferior and were the source of all problems in Germany and around the world. Jews in Germany and in places conquered by the Nazis had their belongings taken and were forced into either concentration camps or ghettos. For example, when Juno, Kino’s son, is bitten by a scorpion and taken to the doctor, the doctor denies them service because they are poor, people of the doctor’s race has had many problems with people of Kino’s race, and since Kino is uneducated because he did not go to school. Like what happened to the Jews and Christians in The Diary of Anne Frank, Kino and his family were oppressed into ghettos and out of the main part of his society and they weren’t treated the same as the other people in the city, but this time it’s because of Kino and his family’s wealth and social status. The lesson here is that Kino cannot buy happiness for his family with the pearl he uncovered because of the oppression that had been bestowed on
