This conduct stresses the importance of psychologist providing information to patients about the nature of the therapy and what the patients can anticipate from the course of therapy. This conduct allows patients to be notified on possible limits regarding confidentiality and opportunities for clients to ask any questions that they may have and receive answers to their questions. It is relevant for my internship site because it is the patient’s rights to have knowledge on the meaning of occupational therapy and to be informed on the purpose of each therapeutic exercises they perform. I am positive that my internship site fulfills this conduct because I frequently witness therapist providing information on the purpose of each therapeutic exercises to the patients. It is beneficial to provide knowledgeable information on occupational therapy because it encourages the patients to perform well at rehab. The occupational therapists always answers the questions of every patient at the Hebrew Home. The patients have the right to refuse to attend occupational therapy if they are not feeling well. The purpose of this conduct is allowing psychologist to terminate therapy in certain situations. Psychologists are authorized to terminate a therapy if it clearly shows that the patient no longer needs therapy, is not benefiting from therapy or is being harmed by continued therapy. The conduct for terminating therapy is relevant to the Hebrew Home because there have been times when patients are not benefiting from occupational therapy because they continuously refuse to attend rehab. This puts the therapist into a position where they are authorized to release a patient from therapy because the patient is not fulfilling his purpose at the Hebrew Home. My internship site has terminated therapy of some patients. But termination only occurs when it is reasonably clear that the patient is not benefiting from occupational therapy or the patient shows great improvement and no longer needs their service. Patients who have achieved all therapeutic exercises and seem to gain body strength to perform daily living task are permitted to be released and return to their
