The Name of the bill is “Nursing Homes: Eliminate Michigan-Based Clinical Practice Guidelines”. The number of the bill is 64 as passed Senate on September 30, 2015. The bill would take effect 90 days after it was enacted into law. The bill would amend the Public Health Code (MCL 333.20155 et al) and delete some requirements of the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), such as, developing clinical process guidelines and compliance protocols, training surveyors, assuring tools used effectively, etc. Instead the bill would require nursing homes to use peer-reviewed, evidence-based, nationally recognized clinical process guidelines and resources to generate resident care policies and compliance protocols with measurable …show more content…

The purpose of this research project was to generate a definition of professional nurse regulation. Subjects were 75 highly diverse experts recruited randomly from the world. The methods that the authors used were experts participating in a classic three-round policy Delphi study, and quantitative and qualitative data were collected and analyzed. The results of this research found out consensus on a revision of professional nurse regulation and a set of 47 key features of high-performing regulatory bodies.
