An example of this is the prescription drug monitoring program. This program was established to ensure the correct usage of medications. This program is designed to eliminate unnecessary medication administration. The North Dakota Board of Nursing requires guided principles for nursing educational programs throughout the state. These requirements are to ensure that nurses entering the career field after graduation are viewed competent and educated properly to provide professional care in the clinical setting whether it be critical, long term, acute, or care.
