Non-Jewish People: Victims Of The Holocaust

Over 5 million non-Jewish people including gypsies, homosexuals, polish people, and the disabled were all victims of the Holocaust. The Nazis killed 11 million people during the Holocaust. Six million people were jewish people and five million were non-Jewish people. Almost half of the victims of the Holocaust were non-Jewish (Berenbaum).
Most victims were killed in gas chambers and then burned in ovens. Some non-Jewish victims were killed not because of their beliefs, but because of disabilities they were born with or simply just their sexuality. According to Terese Pencak Schwartz, “However tragic, these non-Jewish victims are typically not considered victims of the Holocaust” (Berenbaum). Hitler’s first stop was to the east of Germany,
