At the very beginning I was rather apprehensive because of my original upbringing to Catholicism and the fact that I was attending service I was not familiar with. It was an opportunity to fulfill a promise made to a friend and to expand my experiences with other methods of worship. Upon accepting this invitation, I could see the joy in the face of my friend and felt a little more at ease with my decision. This building was new and very modern with auditorium style seating instead of the stained glass windows, wooden pews, and traditional style of architecture of smaller Catholic churches. At first it was very intimidating to enter such a large space. By my estimate, there must have been at least 1,000 followers already seated and we sat near the front 2 rows as the front rows were reserved for handicapped or special needs people. As I sat in the theater style seat, I noticed that there was no place to kneel. My assumption at that point was that there was no kneeling during service which was strange to me. I am accustomed to standing and knelling at very specific times during mass but I was told that at this church it was encouraged for followers to stand, sing, dance, shout, and pray as long as they were respectful to their neighbors beside
