“Our children’s digital lives are turning them into much different creatures from us and not necessarily for the better” (Hatch, 2011). Children are geniuses when it comes to using different types of technology because they are constantly on it. The good thing about using technology is children are learning more and improving their cognitive skills. The negative effect technology has on younger children is the harm that can affect their developmental skills in the future.Without limitations it will create harm to their developmental skills such as inhibiting social interaction with others, behavior problems, and leading to health issues. It’s important that parents and teachers should limit the excessive use of technology to children under …show more content…
There are positive effect technology can have on children such as improving their academic performance in math and science but the negative effect is causing a much long term damage on children’s developmental skills. Parents and teachers should limit the excessive use of technology among children the age 10 years and younger. If not limiting the excessive use of technology, children will face bigger problems such as social phobia, bad behavior, and illness that will later affect their future life. It’s important to come together as parents, teachers and therapists to assist society to open their eyes and see the devastating effects technology is having on children’s physical, psychological and behavior problems, but also on their ability to learn and sustain personal and family relationship (Rowan,2013). There are preventions available for parents and teachers to be aware of these different concerns and to put forth limitations on technology uses.
