This author believes that the only real way to slow the gradual destruction of our nations priceless treasures is to increase the taxes that keep these areas open and running this will provide better pay for those who work to keep the land beautiful and will increase the money the NPS has to use for restoration projects. These increased taxes will also help provide some funds for advertising these pristine areas and creating a positive dialogue between ordinary citizens and the NPS. One other solution is to increase entrance costs to these areas. As of now it costs more to go to a movie and dinner then it would cost to spend an entire week in a national park. This author sees this as a way of encouraging people to see national parks but in a more responsible way. If people feel like they have spent a good amount of money to enter the parks, then they should be more inclined to preserve the natural
