In line with this, I was made fully aware of the roles and responsibilities of the social worker. I was quite overwhelmed when I saw the list of the responsibilities of the social worker knowing that in the agency around 30+ cases are handled by a social worker. Indeed, us, social workers has a vital role in the development of the minor’s recovery. I can clearly and loudly hers their discussions especially when a staff raises his voice to the minor. It may seem wrong at first but I then realized that we have different approaches to the client. The worker seems to exhibit his concern to the minor through showing frankness and tough love. However, there are some instances that really bothered especially when someone is getting reprimanded and other staff would give unsolicited comments.
In the afternoon, I was able to observe their lecture about therapeutic community concepts, philosophies and more. I was astounded to see that the children were co-leading with the facilitator. When they are asked to explain some concepts. Most of the answers you will hear reflects their deeper understanding about it and how passionate they are to adhere to the concepts. They would even give examples on how this concepts should be done. I was amazed to see that some of the children who answered exudes confidence and strong
