In our family we talk to each other in a very humorous way. We mostly talk in spanish, but once in awhile we’ll throw in some english. Also, when we talk we will use made up words that only we know the meanings of. When we talk to each we have our nicknames my mother Concha is Conchin, and my sister Adriana is Niana. Me and my mother have a sorta kid around relationship, so when she makes me angry i’ll yell and she’ll say a good comeback to counter my yelling. For example, Me: “Conchiiiiiiiiin! como estuvo hoy en el restaurant?” Mom: Hoy estuvo del Navin…,” Me: O… so hoy estuvo del navin, que poca!,”. In contrast, when I talk with my sister we’ll talk like, Me: “Hey Niana, what's up, como as estado hoy”, Adriana: Heyy, hoy eh estado mas o menos.” Furthermore, we also talk very aggressively humorous around each other. I am a person who listens to much of Hip-Hop and Gangster Rap, so that's where the cussing and use of the word “Nigga” a lot comes from. It also shows my sense of humor because me and my friends joke around a lot while we talk. Much of the slang we used its made up from our generation of made up words, so it Reflects our generation in a way. I think it's just the way I speak, but personally I don’t like that I cuss a lot and i’ve been trying to change it. My second discourse reflects my roots in Mexico because the way we speak in between our family are shared from my mom’s hometown in Michoacan. In addition, it also shows our mixed American roots because we throw in our spanish. Finally, my last tech geek discourses wraps up my identity because I have a discourse reflecting my personality, another reflecting my roots, and my third main one to reflect my hobbies and interests. I believe that even though my different discourses differ extensively one thing that I believe stays consistent with my change in languages is spelling and grammar. No, matter who I am texting, or talking to I always try my best to spell words properly and to use proper grammar because I see that as something important, and constantly practicing it allows me to use is better and more
