Module 2 Doctoral Program

Module1, DQ #2

Doctoral program is very tedious and time consuming. This is a program that requires constant reading, writing, discussions, and research. By enrolling in this program is like imposing a prison sentence on one myself and is likewise any other person. Due to its time consuming, many people hate to be involved and enroll. Nevertheless, irrespective of these limitations I decided to embark on this golden journey. In order to successfully complete week 4 paper, I must develop a plan that must be strictly followed. For the week beginning on 28 August 2017 and ending on the 1 September 2017, I used two different types of weekly planners. During my sophomore year as an undergraduate at the University of South Carolina, I was accepted into the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program. I do not exaggerate when I say that this program changed the entire course of my life: helping me to fully understand my interests, altering my professional goals, and providing me with a viable path for my passions. As a first generation student, I had very little knowledge about how to navigate the sphere of undergraduate education and in the same vein, I knew next to nothing about graduate school. Before McNair I was never aware of what graduate school could offer me and the program, and the people it connected me with, became my greatest source of support as I made the journey into pursuing my doctorate.…

My relationship with engagement fluctuates. I wish to engage myself in activities provided by my school, or even programs outside of school, but I have no interest in them—I’m afraid of commitment. I don’t want to be disappointed or regret that I wasted my time on something I didn’t enjoy. My initial thoughts on my discussions when I read them is that I had quite a few misspelled words. Some of the art pieces we analyzed and discussed were a little more difficult to understand and it is blatantly obvious in my discussions. A lot of them are shorter than others. For example, Module 2: Introduction to Flanders seemed to be shorter in length than any other of my other discussions up until that point. I struggled to find the words to analyze Giovanni Arnolfini and his Bride.…
