There are teens at the age of eighteen who have their license and can drive their friends around but lack experience. If kids are driving by themselves for an extra year, then they will be more responsible at the age of eighteen when they drive with others. With this inexperience, they have a crash rate higher than any other age group. If teens start earlier and drive more before they are free to drive their friends' places teens should lower the number of accidents they have on the road a substantial amount. Teens should be able to drive at a younger age because it can help them be more responsible.…
When you are a teen you want to have fun , but doing that at home can be hard at times, and sometimes people are to busy to drive you or just do not have the gas, what are you to do then. The place most sixteen year olds need to get to is school, and most people hate riding the bus, and having someone to dive you could make you late ,waiting for them. When driving yourself to school you only have to rely on yourself to get ready on time, which can help you make it to school on time. Being able to drive yourself can save your time and others. When you need to be driven somewhere someone has to give up some time of their day that they could have done something important with, or you would have to wait on the to get done with there work.…
Do you remember how excited you were to finally get your license when you were sixteen? Or do you remember how excited you were going to be once you reached sixteen so imagine if they were to raise the driving age to eighteen. The driving age should not be raised. It should not be raised because sixteen is a good age to start driving. You're old enough to have an job at this age so you should be able to have a license to make sure you can be self reliant getting to work or anywhere else without relying on someone like parents or any other family members.…
Growing up most kids can’t wait until they turn sixteen so they can get their driver license. It’s even a dream to most teens and to take that away would be a world of terror. After reading both articles “Should the Driving Age Be Raised to 18?” and “Do Teens Need Graduated Licenses?” I can explain the different opinions on why teens shouldn’t get a license or drive at sixteen and if teens should go though a program called “Graduated Driver License” to keep lives safe and reduce car accidents yearly.…
Should Teen Driving Age be Raised? “8,000 people were killed/involved in an accident by 15-20 year old drivers” according to . This has many parents asking if their teens should be driving so young. At what age should teens be allowed to drive, and what additional rules should apply? The age that teens start driving is very important because young teens are still growing and still maturing.…
Why the driving age should not be raised Driving is a big art of maturing and growing as an individual. State governments are pushing for the driving age to be raised to eighteen, but there is no reason for this. Sixteen year olds are naturally capable to drive with their senses being heightened as they are younger. Generally, sixteen year olds are unfairly judged as irresponsible and not attentive enough to drive.…
Teens must know how to be responsible and “self-regulate” on their own. Teens need experience in order to learn, and raising the minimum driving age prevents teens from getting much needed experience at a younger age. Those who support raising the minimum driving age may argue that teens are reckless and irresponsible. However, teens only account for about 12 percent.…
One reason the driving age should be raised is because countless teens are involved in accidents every year. To begin with a 2017 article approaching the topic of current percentages of teen car wrecks. In 2015, teens, ages 16-19 were killed due to a car accident putting them in emergency departments for medical care. They then looked at numbers and found that 2,333 teens were killed in the U.S. and 221,313 were in critical care in 2014. This means that six teens ages 16-19 died every day from motor vehicle injuries.…
I definitely don’t think the minimum age should be raised. Sixteen is more than old enough for a mature person to drive a vehicle. If a person is not mature or they can’t drive safely enough, then they don’t pass the test, no matter how old they are. We should do this because there are some kids that aren’t…
The state of Virginia is thinking about changing the minimum driving age due to safety concerns. Virginia is thinking about raising the minimum driving age from sixteen to eighteen. The state of Virginia should keep the minimum driving age at sixteen rather than raising it to eighteen because teens have more job opportunities, teens have a better social life, and teens have to be more responsible. Many job opportunities for teens are not within walking distance. Some teens in the area live in non rural areas with few job opportunities.…
I believe that raising the driving age limit would hinder our young teens. For most they depend on getting their license at their age for several of reasons. This will make it to where they have the freedom to go as they please and have that freedom. While some young teens do not care if it is raised cause either way they still get to drive. Some adults say, that in raising the driving age will make it to where their will be less accidents on the road; however, that might be true to some degree some students need it for a job others to go to school, or even to be able to move out on their own.…
They may be required by family to earn money for gas, clothes, and curricular activities. More disagreements or conflicts may arise with the parent-child relationship during this stage. Teenagers have two contradictory tasks in their relationships with their parents: to establish autonomy from them and to maintain a sense of relatedness with them (BEE BOYD 323). Friendships become more important to teens, with technology, teens are able to communicate at all hours of the day and night with each other. Friendships can be a positive influence or negative influence on adolescences.…
Since getting my license at age 16, I have been able to dive to work. Driving allows teens to do a lot more in terms of responsibility. The driving age should remain at the age of 16 because it allows the teen to set a job, not worry about catching a bus, and teaches them responsibitity. It is important for a teen to have a job at the age of 16. Teens do not have to rely on their parents for everything such as buying gas and jast food a person does not have to rely on a parent to get to his job.…
As a result, teens that are unable to drive on their own legally can create multiple problems in certain situations for both parents and their kids. Firstly, many teens today are busy with a variety of items, such as extracurricular activities, jobs, volunteer work, and socializing, and that means they need a ride to and from these activities (How To Adult). However, when they aren’t able to drive themselves due to the driving age restriction, this responsibility falls on their parents, who are most likely already loaded with enough work as it is, not to mention other daily tasks and errands that an average parent does for their family. Moreover, in other cases, some parents may not have the freedom or willingness to shuttle their teens from place to place, and that only creates more problems for adolescents (How To Adult). Also, areas such as rural places may entirely lack safe and public transportation (Ex.…
Teenagers are not mature enough and this is the first reason why driving age should be raised. Teenagers wait for a long time to drive and when they finally be 18 and can drive they do crazy things like driving very fast which is unsafe thing for them and for other drivers on the road. Letting the teenagers drive in early age would increase the number of car accidents. As it is mentioned 5000 teenagers dies every year from car accidents. Teenagers are not matured enough to…
